Volumio 2.389 and Edimax -7811UN

Volumio is unstable and stops working with my WiFi adapter Edimax EW-7811UN.
What is the cause? How to solve it?

I’ve had a mixed experience with those dongles, generally:

  • They are very small, and their little antenna does not offer much improvements over pi’s integrated antenna
  • Lot of my dongles were unusable after about 6 months

Using the new model of Raspberry Pi 3 B +, with the 5Ghz connection, would solve the problem?
