vilumio overriding alsa settings

Hi all,

I just moved to Volumio from mopidy a little while ago and finally got a DAC for my RPI3.

Now I am not sure if it’s because of the DAC or not, but I used to be able to go into alsa mixer and set the output volume of my soundcard to just below red, Then I would use the in app volume leaving alsa static.

Now when I go in, set alsa where I want, then run alsa ctrl store, come back to the app and it is fine until I touch the volume in app and it drops my alsa volume on it’s own.

OS is raspbian Jessie, RPI3, Piano DAC 1.1

Otherwise I am very impressed at the quality of volumio, great work!

If you don’t want to use the volume control in volumio, just set volume mixer to none.

It seems that the volume in volimio does control the “Digital Ouput” in my alsa mixer

The issue was I would set it manually in alsa mixer, then click on the volumio gui and it would drop the “Digital Ouput” in my alsa mixer back to where the gui last had it.
