I have ran the touchscreen plugin installation but it gets to the downloading and select language and seems to hang awaiting on an input? I have rebooted after leaving it here for a while and the plugin shows but it is not allowing me to select it. Any ideas?
Hi,
I think the same thing happens to me
when I install the touch screen plugin, it stops at 70%, specifically installing the language packs, the last one that comes out is 21. Other. Does anyone know what is going on?
When I restart the installed plugin appears but tells me that it is inactive. The screen displays the volume ssh.
Exactly the same happens with rpi3, sparky and odroid c2
Thank you very much.
to me it seems to be awaiting user input. i think if ran from SSH this would be fine…
Boot from ssh with drivers and odroid commands before installing volumio touchscreen plugin.
Says that I should select the keyboard language of the screen, but how can you select if there is no keyboard and since ssh is not possible?
I have the same issue (plugin install halting at 70%, awaiting user input for language selection) on a RP2 with the Adafruit PiTFT 3.5" touchscreen. Help!
The 70% hanging issue is a known error. Apparently it does install but it doesn’t update the progress indicator.
I’ve got the same problem, 70% and then stack: the plugin shows as installed, but not actve-
I’m using an HP monitor w/out touch: does it matter
I experienced the same problem. Here’s what I did:
- Log in with SSH
- ‘rescue’ the failed install: sudo dpkg --configure -a
(you will have to select the language now, but with SSH this is no issue) - uninstall the plugin and re-install the plugin (both in volumio webGUI)
- the progress bar may stay at 70%, but after a while (some 10 mins to be sure) you can check activity of ‘apt-get’ in SSH with top
- make sure to enable the plugin in the volumio webGUI plugins-page
That will solve it… hopefully for you too!
Balkemas solution works!
After hours of installations and reinstallations this finally solved the issue!
Thanks a lot!
Thanks, now it works! Still a small problem: the resoòution isn’t correct for my monitor.
Hi,
Balkemas, are you still here?
Hi All,
New to Volumio and the forum, hardware rather than software savvy, so apologies if there is a simple solution that I haven’t understood.
This still seems to be an issue with the new 2.114 release, but with the previous release the above fix works brilliantly.
With the new release all seems to be well until a reboot to get the screen working, I then get the following line on boot up.
2.714092} —{ end Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init! exitcode=0x00000100
everything is frozen at this point.
The only solution to this is to reload Volumio onto the sd card.
Has anyone else encountered this problem?
Many thanks in advance for any advice.
Paul.
P.S.
Fantastic product and support on the forum, keep up the good work.
