Yes you need to SSH for version 0.8.6.
And I’ll hope it’s coming soon in the recular version.

Thanks,
I SSH’d 0.8.6 and it’s in with Mixer - None and Spotify connecting no problem.
Not had a chance to listen to it yet as it’s bed time and the RPi / hifi is the other end of the house
Latest version works great. Good work!!!
I hope, that is Spotify application problem. Because I tried use Spotify play via Moode audio and It is same…Before worked well…
0.8.6 isn’t working for me on a pi zero. I’m able to install and enable it but not able to connect with any Spotify app. It displays as a device on the android app and the windows app but won’t establish a connection. I have two pi’s (one Zero W using USB Dac and one 3+ using Allo Boss) both running the latest versions of each Volumio (2.555) and Spotify Connect (0.8.6). Only the Zero is experiencing this issue, the 3+ works. I’ve repro’d this a few times over with both a factory reset and reflashed sd card.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
This leads me to the discovery of another issue, I am unable to cleanly uninstall the Spotify Connect plugin via the UI. The uninstall progress bar completes but the plugin continues to show under installed plugins , even after reboot. That gets the pi into a bad state and I’m unable to reinstall the plugin, even via SSH. I’ve experimented a bit with this as well and can’t uninstall any other plugin either (tried the last.fm scrobbler and simple EQ). Repro’d with both Zero and 3+.
Is there any way to uninstall via SSH?
My environment is
Raspberry Pi 3B + & Hifiberry DAC Plus & Volumio 2.555
But there are two problems.
Problem 1
I could not uninstall the Spotify Connect 2 (0.7.4) that installed the plugin.
Symptoms are the same as Mr. illtrick previously reported.
Problem 2
I prepared a new Volumio 2.555 micro SD card and tried plugin installation of Spotify Connect 2 (0.8.6) via SSH from the state that nothing plugin was installed yet, but after input “volumio plugin install”
#############################################
This command will install the plugin on your device
Compressing the plugin
Plugin succesfully compressed
Progress: 10
Status: Downloading plugin
#############################################
After the display above, the installation will not be completed even if you wait without proceeding.
For Problem 1, I would like to know if there is a method to uninstall via SSH like Mr. illtrick .
For problem 2, if you have experienced the same problem among those who have successfully installed, please let me know the solution.
Thank you.
first uninstall spotifyconnect2 via the ui then ssh (in my case I use FIleZilla on an imac) and go to data / plugins / music_service and then delete the whole folder volspotconnect2.
reboot your raspberry pi and ssh and install 0.8.6 again.
github.com/balbuze/volumio-plug … otconnect2
for windows you can use WinSCP.
Solving Problem 1
After referring to Mr. michel 8166’s advice and uninstalling with UI,
From SSH
volumio @ volumio: ~ $ cd / data / plugins / music_service
volumio @ volumio: / data / plugins / music_service $ rm - Rf volspotconnect 2
And uninstalled it by deleting the directory “volspotconnect 2”.
Thank you very much.
Solving Problem 2
The problem was caused by having been doing work since I switched to root authority.
I uninstalled 0.7.4 and restarted, and as a result of executing the command by SSH default, it was successfully installed although Progress: 70 was repeated.
Currently 0.8.6 is working without problems.

Thank you.
sorry
volumio@volumio:~$ volumio plugin install
is a typo.
volumio@volumio:~/volspotconnect2$ volumio plugin install
is correct.
I still have no sound with Spotify or Spotify connect so this may not just be a connect issue.
Running latest Volumio
Clean install and then ssh install of latest volspotconnect
Spotify finds volumio connects and starts playing, volumio displays the song playing etc but with no volume.
StartConnect.sh looks good.
DAC is DAM1021 sampling rate is set to 24bit 44,1 and very high.
Have set the mixer to software, which doesn’t play either?, and back again with no joy.
Music plays fine from YouTube and NAS drives fine.
Any ideas?
What is the version number off the Spotify plugin you currently installed?

Hi,
Spotify connect 2 is 0.8.6
I haven’t installed Spotify plugin yet. I did have before I reloaded but wanted to get this sorted first.
did you set the volume in the spotify app / pc or mac to 100%.
if this does not help, I no longer know what the cause is now.
Hi, yes I made sure it was up fully in the app.
Thanks for trying
I think it has to do with the startconnect.sh
Its constantly changing and I’m not sure its outputting to the correct mixer
#this file is generated by the plugin. You should not edit it unless you kno$cd /data/plugins/music_service/volspotconnect2
./vollibrespot -b 320 -c /tmp
–disable-audio-cache
–name ‘Volumio’ --initial-volume 0\ --device plughw:0
–mixer alsa \ --mixer-name ‘PCM’ --mixer-card ‘hw:0’ \
For a i2s output with no volume control is this right?
which dac model you have selected in playback options?
what gives the output in ssh with the command aplay -l
if you have a dac model that does not appear in the i2s list, select R-PI DAC and reboot the pi and check if sound is coming out.
or try generic i2s DAC.

Sokris DAM1021 is selected in the i2s DAC list. Like I said, it works fine playing files from NAS drive and YouTube fine.
This is the latest startconnect.sh:
GNU nano 2.2.6 File: startconnect.sh
#this file is generated by the plugin. You should not edit it unless you kno$cd /data/plugins/music_service/volspotconnect2
./vollibrespot -b 320 -c /tmp

–mixer alsa

Can you try setting startconnect to and restarting the daemon?
#this file is generated by the plugin. You should not edit it unless you kno$cd /data/plugins/music_service/volspotconnect2
./vollibrespot -b 320 -c /tmp \

sudo systemctl stop volspotconnect2.service
sudo systemctl start volspotconnect2.service
Hi, thanks for the reply.
I did that all, Volumio hangs for about 30 second with no response, not picked up as a device in Spotify and also won’t play any local music.
After 30sec it springs into life and plays local music, is picked up on Spotify but no sound.
Opening up the startconnect.sh it has reverted back to its original state.
GNU nano 2.2.6 File: startconnect.sh
#this file is generated by the plugin. You should not edit it unless you kno$cd /data/plugins/music_service/volspotconnect2

Also the DAC has no hardware mixer, it has a built in volume control which is controlled by an external pot.
