some YouTube songs are playing others not

Hello

Today my Raspberry Pi 3 B, HiFiBerry AMP2 arrived :laughing: . So i quickly set it up with the last volumio version 2.348 and it worked out of the box.
I installed successful the youtube plugin.
But some youtube songs are played and others not. I get a notification that the specific song will start but it don’t starts.
Anyone facing this problem or it’s just me?

Is it bug? Or you guys have workaround?

After some debugging it looks like the YouTube plugin on volumio will only play the songs with the tag “Youtube Album: null Albumart” :confused:

Hello,
I have a similar problem. Since 1 week no youtube-songs will start within the plugin. Was there some change from youtube site?

Please advice how the problem can be solved.

I have the same problem, but I haven’t been able to play anything off of youtube. It started before I updated (last update had been around November 17) and was the reason I updated volumio.
Updated volumio to latest, uninstalled and reinstalled youtube plugin, and restarted with no change.

I checked, and all the songs I tried to play lack the album:null tag. I think joker5689 is on to something.

Further research showed the YouTube songs that playing have the tag “Album: null” and not “Youtube Album: null Albumart” as I mentioned earlier
They all have an albumart.

The link you posted leads to the original plugin from Pintea.

Are you able to play all Youtube songs by installing that version instead of the one that is available in the Volumio store ?

Just for reference, these are youtube songs I have tried to play. None of them work. Edit: posted before I saw Josh2000’s post; if I find anything I will post it over there.

YouTube stopped working for me a little while ago. I tried uninstalling reinstalling and making sure all automatic updates were applied. Nothing.

I’ve reimaged my Pi3 with volumio 2.368 and tried installing the plugin (updated 18.2.18) again - nothing - no interface in browse - despite showing as being installed.
