Hello,
I’m using Volumio 2 with a Raspi3.
I have selected some webradio in my favourites and almost always listen to the same one.
Is there a (easy) way to start a particular webradio when switching on the device without having to select the play function (webradio) and after the station from the favourites list?
It could be handy.
Thanks.
Have you tried the ‘autoplay’ plugin ? volumio-plugins-collection-t6251.html
Great !
It works fine.
I never see it before, there should be a link in the UI to “all” plugins…
Thank you very much.
auto play plugin crashes when I enable it. volumio appears to completely restart. I assume some error but is there a log that can be enabled to debug?
Not a single comment ;-( Today i’ve done a complete fresh install of Volumio 362, and exactly the same error with the Autoplay plugin - install; when enabled volumio appears to completely restart and checking the “installed plugins” shows that Autoplay is again disabled. How can I contact author Thomas Doerr?
Sorry about that Andrew, but posts sometimes get “buried,” especially when they are marked as solved … a new post would have been more effective.
Post an issue on the plugin’s Github page github.com/volumio/volumio-plug … /auto_play, or contact the plugin author by PM.
Thank you.
Hi AndrewHeard,
I’m not 100% sure about - but i experienced that having changed your password may be the problem.
Try to change your password for user volumio back to the default password “volumio” and then retry the installation.
After successful installation you can change it back to whatever you like to.
Please report if this also helped for you.

Thanks for your suggestion @josef but I hadn’t changed the Volumio password from the default.
Now I have changed the password, for better or worse but it didn’t help. I then tried to change the password back to the default using passwd command but Linux says “Bad: new password is too simple”. I think it must contain 1 upper case letter & 1 digit. The default Volumio password is a problematic choice. How do I now change it back? And will this cause other problems if I don’t change it?
Hi AndrewHeard,
I’m very sorry to hear that.
It’s new to me that setting the password back to default isn’t possible any longer now.
What version of Volumio do you use ?
- Josef
@josef - thanks for your concern. I’m using latest Volumio 2.362. This is a general Linux/Debian restriction - minimum 6 characters, mixed case, at least one alpha/ digit. The default seems like a bad choice. Would be good to hear from the developer.
