Im currently using Openmediavault as my NAS device. I mount the share in Volumio and it shows that it mounted just fine but when i go to my library, there is no music loaded. I have already messed with the permissions for the share and local shares on the NAS but nothing has worked at all.
Anyone have any ideas on what is wrong?
I initially flashed in on a 4G SD then flashed it in a 16G to use. It worked the very first time i flashed it in the 4G but when i made the 16G it no longer worked no matter what.
You say that Volumio mounts the share OK … does it scan the share or indicate any tracks? From the command line, can you see your music in the directory ‘/mnt/NAS/yourshare’?
Ok so after hours of troubleshooting. I figured out that my file system permissions needed to be set to Read/Execute for “Others”. Now it’s loading all the music.
Any idea why that is? For me, similarly, my specific Volumio user can be read-only, but “Others” needs to be “read/execute.” I’d rather lock down things a bit more. I was hoping to have my main, non-root account as owner with read/write/execute, my volumio user with read-only, and “Others” as “None.”
Is there another user that needs access/to be created on OMV? I have read some places about a “mpd” user.
