Small SPI LCD Display

I’m restoring an old Philco Model 20 to be a streaming box (just because) with a RPi, DAC, amp and new speakers. The window where the tuning dial was is the perfect size for a 2 inch LCD. However I haven’t found a thread discussing the install of a small SPI. I’ve seen pictures here and on youtube, but no descriptions. Has anyone done this? I can’t seem to get the right drivers and files loaded. The screen I have is the Waveshare 2.0 LCD.

If anyone has any pointers, it would be appreciated.

I tried the touch screen plugin, but that didn’t work. I didn’t select that as its a LCD, not an oled, but I can give it a shot. What’s the worst that could happen?
