I want to replace my Windows 10 server that I’m using for whole house audio with a system using the Tinker Board S, an existing MusicStreamer III USB DAC and a basic two channel amp (no preamp or tuner). Volumio works great with the software volume control, but I’d like more control over the sound to the amp. I installed the Simple Equalizer but could not get sound, no matter what adjustments I made. All I want is a way to make minor adjustments to the audio, either via the Volumio software, a preamp or another DAC. Any ideas? Thanks!
Sorry but the equalizer plugin can’t work with software volume…
It could be an evolution…
Understood. I’ve tried numerous combinations but can’t get the plugin to work correctly. I do hear music but there’s also this horrible “frying” sound. I had hoped the mixer would stay at the Hardware setting so I could use an external volume control, but enabling the plugin changed it to None. Is that normal?
I really hope this will work going forward, as it would really simplify things for me. I do appreciate all your hard work!
If you have a hardware mixer, it should work.
- Disable the plugin
- set the mixer in volumio and check it works properly
- reboot
- Enable the plugin. Even if “none” appears as mixer, this the previous setting in use. It’s just a display issue. Don’t try to change it!
For the frying sound, I already had this with some usb dac…
