I’m using Volumio V3 installed on x64 MacBook Air SSD instead MacOS. Connected to internet by 100MB/s LAN cable connection. All major functionality works fine with my DAC and I’m listening music, but I found several issues with required and fine to have features.
Issue with saving DAC sound volume settings.
When I’m trying to change mixer type to none - for my system is not required to control volume on DAC I have lost music volume till I will save some other settings. It’s OK as I do it once.
But when DAC is unplugged from USB and then plugged in again, I see settings wasn’t saved and I have volume control enabled again. Mixer type set to HW.
Artists pictures download works only once when added album. Update per folder didn’t change situation. The main fix - reset all pictures cache, But here second issue.
I see different not found artists pictures when doing this. Once for Highwayman was found artist picture but other artist wasn’t. Several day’s after I have done cache reset and now not found artist has a picture but Highwayman not.
I understand when unknown artists could be not found, but random failure with pictures differently downloaded - this is issue.
Your settings should be saved, as long as you don’t unplug/plug your DAC while Volumio is running. The audio output is not plug and play. So leave it connected when you boot or operate the system.

Artist discovery
This seems to become an unpredictable rolling dice. Every time I clear a library or perform a “reset album cache” It’s a random guess if artist are populated with art. Every time previous found artist turns empty after a new scan. Using the same library, same hardware.
So i’ve started with personal art containing 23 pictures and now (same library) 175 entries. After the rescan, for this test, of my (unchanged) library, again 107 are missing.
Now from a total of 871 Artists, 275 are not found. It’s getting a bit annoying.
Regarding first issue, how it’s related to plug-n-play?
PnP feature is automatic detection HW feature in OS.
Your specific recommendation is unusable, as DAC with internal powered USB interface has power off USB 2 I2S convertor (analog unplug) and than always will be unrecognized.
The fix is very simple - use HW ID of USB interface detected to store specific HW settings and restore them after plugging same HW again.

In case yes - could you please ask to add HW ID settings saving support and what about confirmed issue? Does it been fixed?

I see one another cosmetic issue in application.
When I’m running under iOS some album from Volumio app, several times I have found the size of album picture has been changed from small in center to big one on all screen and to small again to the center position.
This is not an issue that somehow related to music listening or to usability, but it’s here.
