RPI400 cannot use USB SSD with Volumio

Hello everyone,

I have a small problem with my RPI400 after a reinstallation of the current Volumio.
This RPI400 was now equipped with the raspian OS for a good year and ran without any problems. Now I wanted to run it again with Volumio and then run it 24/7. The first thing I noticed was that after the successful installation the restart did not work, the RPI was dead. Only after removing the active USB host did it start again. So the active USB host was removed. Next, and this was annoying, Volumio had real problems reading my 128 GB SSD hard drive with just 18GB of music. On the one hand, it took an eternity to capture a few albums and the connection to the RPI broke off regularly, also via ssh. In the process, Volumio lost all the albums they had already recognized and started from scratch again. Eventually, Volumio became unstable. After removing the SSD everything was ok again.
I would also like to mention that this SSD hard drive type works on my other RPI 4 and 3b+ without any problems… And very quickly.

By the way, USB sticks were not even recognized. As if they didn’t even get suspense.

Now I came up with the idea to disconnect the RPI400 keyboard, since it is also on the USB rail and lo and behold, the whole circus is over and the SSD is read in as usual.
So I can rule out a hardware error, because it runs smoothly with the rasbianOS.
Is there a bug in Volumio here?
Maybe someone else has already made such an observation, maybe there is already a solution for it ?

Yours sincerely:

Torsten
