Resonessence Concero HP not recognised.

Hi There,

I am currently having the issue of the Concero HP not being found by volumio.

I have been able to find it in DietPi/MPD, however the problem is that it sets as a default to max volume.
I was only able to find it after modifying uEnv.txt.

This is not a solution I am looking for as, well… It sets as max volume…

I am not really sure where to start.

I am using a iPower+Default PSU > Allo USBridge > Concero HP.

Previously used the same setup with a Chord Mojo with no issues.

I am a linux noob but happy to try and provide whatever information is required.

I had high hopes after reading that the Herus dac from the same maker worked.

Any assistance would be greatly greatly appreciated.

Scott

You might like to try and see if Volumio is “seeing” the device … either ssh in and run ‘aplay -l’ or have a look here about sending logs

Thanks.
I will do that tomorrow at work as that is where the unit is.

I did run that but cannot remember what the output was now.

I do know that threre is a recurring slab of code every 30-60 seconds that mentions something along the line of kill USB or the like.

I will get logs tomorrow.

As I said I managed to get it running in diet pi but it tried to kill me with volume.

Hi there,

I attempted this on both my Raspi3 and USBRidge today.
I was able to locate the device using aplay -l and via the web GUI when using the Raspi3 and via a USB port on the Sparky.
However no sound. I was also not able to select filters on the DAC, which I think only become available once the device initialises.

Via the USBRidge USB port, the device is not found via aplay or GUI.

I updated Volumio via enabling test in dev and rebooted. The Resonessence labs is now available in GUI for selection and visable via aplay.

However same thing, no sound.

I am currently playing with some available settings. to see if I can make it happy. However I am not sure how it will go

Out of curiosity, did you get it from our shop?

For the solution, see here:

Thanks heaps for that. I will try that out shortly.

I did this exact action on the older version of Volumio with no effect, hopefully this will resolve with the most recent version which includes updates specifically for the USBridge.

Sorry no i purchased the unit directly from Allo.

Hi there,

Thank you kindly.

This has worked, I now have audio. The only problem now is I have no volume control via the GUI or the Concero HP its self.

I can however change the volume via Alsamixer. It appears the GUI volume is linked to “PCM” however this makes no change to volume. There is another slider in alsamixer called “SoftMaster” which does adjust volume, presumably via software control but hell I am happy to just have this working.

The volume control on the Concero its self sends characters to terminal so I am not sure Iwill ever get that to work as such.

Thanks for everything thus far. Funnily it was things I had tried but in the wrong order/on the wrong version of Volumio.
