Project with PeppyMeter Screensaver Plugin for VOLUMIO v2.9xx and 3.0xx buster

Maybe you can try this.

Michel
that is exactly what I did.
Filetransfer with filezilla via sftp works

Without this there is no screen output, so no peppy_meter (unless you run a x86 image)

strange, it should work I definitely did that way last afternoon.

Please do this:

Download as Plugin:

(it’s all inclusive, nothing other is needed)
Version 1.3.0 (2021.10.30)
peppy_screensaver.zip

To install the plugin create a new folder in /home/volumio and copy the content of zip file and switch into this folder and run:

volumio plugin install

!! Important !! Do you want update from a previous version of plugin, please deinstall the old plugin at first and install the new downloaded plugin again. Do you use the manually installation before, please start from new Image and install the original TouchScreen-Plugin at first

Download for manually Installation:
(updated 2021.08.22)
Install_peppy.zip (953.9 KB)

Yes I have installed the Touch Display to get the screen via HDMI plug of the RasPi.
Here are the plugins I installed:
Fusion DSP, Peppymeter, GPIO Control, Randomizer, Touch Display.
Maybe I get in trouble with these plugins.
Reinstalling PeppyMeter on another dir /home/volumio/Install_peppy doesn’t change anything.
I get the plugin in the configuration list and I am able to configure it.
But it doesn’t start

Disable Fusion DSP!! peppy and Fusion DSP won’t work together

Fusion dsp does not work with Peppymeter!

Wheaten,
I downloaded the peppy_screensaver.zip and extracted it under Windows.
I got a root dir named: peppy_screensaver
Then I copied the complete peppy_screensaver dir via filezilla to /home/volumio.
At first I didn’t rename the root dir from peppy_screensaver to Install_peppy,
but the installation was done successfully (says the log) and I was able to configure it by volumio.
Now I deinstalled PeppyMeter, renamed the peppy root dir to Install_peppy and installed it again.
Installation was done successfully (says the log) and I was able to configure it by volumio.
But it doesn’t start.

and now you need to disable Fusion DSP. They don’t work together.
It’s either Peppy or Fusion DSP, not both.

We wrote you - disable fusion dsp
Edit: @Wheaten
stop typing at the same time as me

You are copying me, I write it and you copy it

Okay I disable Fusion DSP, and reboot because after disabling Fusion DSP I got an error.
Why do I have to disable Fusion DSP - it is a complete different functionality?

YES, first
“They both using a sound pipe. Fusion DSP is doing it correct and peppy isn’t. Hence why it’s not in the plugin store.”

Your short cornering this.
They both using a sound pipe. Fusion DSP is doing it correct and peppy isn’t. Hence why it’s not in the plugin store.

@Gelo5
You didn’t answer his question… doesn’t count

Yes disabling Fusion DSP ist the Solution.
Now Peppymeter starts.
Wheaten - I understand, now I have to decide nice view or individual sound

Go with the nice view and get a Dell Wyse 3040 for the Fusion DSP part :-).
That’s what I did.
When using my headphones, I use Fusion with the Dell. For normal listening I Use my Peppy box.

On the Dell Wyse 3040 Peppymeter and FusionDSP work together,
or are there other plugins installed?

nope.

Not sure how you get that from this remark.

Current system with peppy and the dell for Fusion. (cheap alternative 64 Euro, looking at todays rPi prices)

So you mean TWO devices in serial.
Hmmm, I’ll think about that.
