Prevent mounting disk from usb

Hi, one of the great things in Volumio is that it detects automatically a disk coonected to the USB and starts scanning for it’s contents.

Well, this is my problem, I don’t want Volumio to mount a disk /dev/SDA1 but I need the disk to be connected to the USB port.

Any idea on how to prevent this ? I am using Putty so I can edit the files.

I’m not sure if I understood your question correctly.
You want to connect a disk to a usb port, but you do not want it as device /dev/sda1?
This is standard linux behavior, do you expect the drive to show up as something else? As what?

Maybe he just wants the disk to be supplied with power …
