Power requirements: RPi3+Piano 2.1+Kali

I’m trying to make sure I understand the Kali documentation properly. If I want to run a RPi3 with a Piano 2.1 DAC and Kali reclocker, what are the power requirements? It looks like I can choose either a) to run the RPi3 via the Kali (so just one power source to the Kali) or b) run separate power sources to the RPi3 and the Kali.

If I choose b), do I remove a jumper (“U-LINK OPEN” in the Kali documentation)?

Yes you can run the Pi powered through Kali (a) or separate (b).

As 1 of the 2 main functions of the Kali is creating very clean power, I don’t think there is any benefit in running the Pi with its own powersource. Feeding the Pi of the Kali won’t polute the powerfeed to your Piano DAC.

Thanks for the explanation. So is that the recommended approach: just one power supply to the Kali, which then powers everything?

That is what @allo recommends when using the Kali. It makes the most sense.

Just make sure you have a good PSU.

OK, thanks for the advice.

I use iFi iPower for Kali and Piano 2.1 and a powerbank for RPI and HDD connected via USB (powerbank gives power both to RPI and HDD with 1T of music), I’m very satisfied but I wonder if new Allo dual PSU could sobstitute iFi iPower and powerbank.
