Piano 2.1 dual mono : no sound on left channel

Hello,

I meet a problem since yesterday with my Piano 2.1.

After having designed a linear power supply, used in coordination with Piswith from Nanomesher, I tried to restart my system 2 or 3 times without any other connection.
Then I replugged HDD, network, and audio output in dual mono mode, in the same way it was working since several months.

Unfortunately, there is no more sound in the left channel. Right channel is working correctly.
I then tried the dual stereo mode, but I’ve got sound only with the RCA connectors on the right of the board (Sub left and Sub right channel).

I assume one of the DAC in the piano board is broken, but I want to be sure of that before ordering a new Piano 2.1 (I love this DAC, it delivers an incredible sound).
I especially remember that when i received the board, I had the same problem with the left channel, but it was solved by setting the volume at 100%. Here, this trick doesn’t work.

Is someone here could help me and have an idea of which tests I have to perform (Hw or Sw) ?

Thanks,
Florian

Hi Florian,

I’ve got a very similar issue with one of my “pianos” but for me it is exactly the other DAC that has stopped working.
I tried everthing - no chance.
Unfortunately i bought it as a used part - so no invoice and no guarantee at ALLO, i guess.
If you have the invoice, i think they may replace it for free. Just give it a try.

May be ALLO has got an advice… ???

Best Regards
Josef

Thanks Josef, for the feedback.

I keep trying different things, without any success. If I had an oscilloscope, I would have been able to test signals, and check the state of output AOP. Too bad…

I think I will have to order a new one :unamused:
