How to install plugin?
cause now, Impossible to use my spotify premium account…
Thx!

I found there is a mistake in this version, no place to upload plugin.
I tried to install dev version, to installer after the volumio plugin.
Bad idea…no boot at all…
Where I can find old iso to reinstall?
thx

Same problem here! I just started to think i`m stupid…geez… but total noob here.

try to run it on a raspi + kali + i-sabre (kali edition)

there is noch registercard to upload the plugin for the i-sabre …

is a solution to instal plugin via terminal?

This is not a bug…
If you want to install a plugin not in the “official” list, please have a look here https://volumio.github.io/docs/Plugin_System/Writing_A_Plugin.html

Not a bug?
But before, it was easy to install a unofficial plugin via a simple drag and drop.
This fonction will be not available in the future?
Maybe can you help me to find an older image whitch can install a unofficial plugin easily?
Because, the link you gave, is not very simple to understand…I need a package.json file?

I have the same problem after last update, before there was a tab like “upload plugin” - since update I cannot see it…

Download the plugin.zip to your device and unzip it.
cd into the plugin in folder and type ‘volumio plugin install’

Plugin will then install and should be available to you to configure and use as you used to.

thanks for the explanation everyone. I think I can get further with this. maybe a little more digging and learning – but doable… :nerd:

From a UI point of view it does not make sense IMHO to get rid of the “upload-button” – but anyhow - it is what it is
nice to have volumio as a player for free around.

I think it has been done deliberately so the volumio team can vet every plugin and add it to the official repository once it has been confirmed that it works and doesnt affect the core functions of volumio. With people using unofficial plugins and then reporting problems it makes it harder to squash bugs.

Once you know how to install plugins via ssh/terminal it’s a pretty simple process

Really thy for your help, installing plugin via ssh is very easy.
All is working perfectly.

I understand. I don`t really want to tinker around with the software (well it was not planed) but I have to instal the plug-in from audiophonics for the
Allo Kali reclocker and the I-Sabre which sits on top of that.

Having no idea from programming (but knowing what a terminal is I do  at all it is sadly quite a task for me – starting with the problem:

can I open the terminal via browser (and how can I do it – schouldn`t that work with ssh?) or do I need to “give” the raspi its own Monitor and keyboard?

and, don`t knowing Linux, how do I open a terminal?

sorry for bothering with the simplest questions, but this is not my field of expertise and I failed to answer these simple question with the help of the mighty google.

Finally, I’ve some problemes with volconnect2 I hadn’t before…
Il try another solution.
You are using windows or linux on your computer?

Sorry, but this is the wrong way to solve this.
We removed the plugin upload because we wanted to have a more consistent plugin experience, and a better quality control on it.

This method for installing plugins is meant for dev only and people who can sort things out, as making it widespread would bring us back to our previous situation.

The proper way would be asking Audiophonics to submit their plugin for review and for publishing.
However I might have an idea on why they don’t do it…

Lol!
But, there is no official volumio connect plugin, so I can’t use my phone like a remote control, with native android Spotify app…
But before, it was possible…!
I found 2.344 x86 version, I’ll reinstall it.
I’ll update when an official plugin will fix it!
Thx.

The spotify connect plugin is not on x86 yet because it doesn’t install properly, while on arm it does.
As soon as it is fixed (with our review process), you’ll see included.

The price to pay is a little delay in plugin availability and updates, but in the long run the benefit of plugin and volumio stability will be well worth imho

I do agree, have removed my post and will PM the OP

I totally agree with you.
So,we’ll wait for an official spotify connect plugin.
In the meantime, I’ll downgrade my volumio installation to have spotify connect function, I prefer at this time using native Android spotify app.

EDIT: Not a volumio problem on x86 devices. The problem come from the volconnect2 plugin.
I tried installing this plugin on older version of volumio, same problem…
Il’ll install latest version of volumio and I 'll wait for an odfficial spotify connect plugin…Or using my Pi3?

There is another option, if you go to the dev menue (Volumio-IP/dev). There you can upload a zip plugin.
