Followed all your steps but after reboot, No Sound.
Volumio finds and loads the IQAudioAmp+ HAT driver. The mixer becomes either undefined or hardware.
Here is the output from:

Is this the problem and solution?
As you can see from prior posts something happened at Volumio v2.657.
