No HDMI output when Raspberry Pi 5 connected to official 7" Display

Hi Folks,

I am running volumio on a raspberry pi 5 connected to the official touchscreen and its connected to my synology NAS. I am trying to connect to my amp and soundbar via HDMI0 but not getting any audio out.
I have altered my userconfig.txt so that it has the following lines appended
hdmi_group=2
hdmi_mode=87
hdmi_drive=2
max_framebuffers=2

Any ideas what I may be doing wrong ?

Hi @Andy_Morgan

  • Download Volumio V4 from Get Started - Volumio and flash your SD.
  • Don’t touch/alter /boot/userconfig.txt
  • Install the plugin Pi Screen Setup. You can configure both Video and Audio with this plugin.

Thanks @Wheaten I have installed the plugins and noticed available output includes composite(rca) and a warning that it disables the hdmi output.
Still no output

@gvolt I have used Claude to try every variation on the Pi Setup Screen and also altering the various config files. As son as the screen is activated it blocks the HDMI ports. Has anyone run into this problem?
