I would be grateful for some help. I have the Allo Digi One running the latest version of Volumio (VERSION: 2.413). Everything works great including apple airplay which I use regularly. I have since installed two plugins:
Volumio Spotify Connect2 (0.7.4)
Everything worked
Volumio SImple Equalizer 0.4.1
Once this was installed (and restarted system), I have no audio at all. Once I uninstall the equalizer, the system works again.
Many thanks for the quick response I can confirm I have not changed any settings after installing the equaliser. I have simply installed, activated and then restarted.
The screenshot shows the currently selected allo digit one via the plugin.
Humm…
I must admit I never tested it with this DAC. So it is not easy to debug. Do you hear the startup sound?
Are you familiar with ssh?
I yes, can you enter the following command :
sudo journalctl -f
and then play something to see a message appears.
I am picking up where I left with the EQ from some time ago. What is the best way to check this problem?
I can collect the diagnostics via SSH as you indicated previously, I just wanted to check what is the best way. Should I activate the EQ first, try to play something to trigger the problem and then collect diagnostics?
Many thanks for the feedback and great to hear the EQ works in your setup. Do you use Roon as well? Reason I am asking is because I have installed it (via SSH) alongside Volumio on my Digi One. If I activate the EQ and play something with Spotify connect or Airplay, no problem (everything works), If I then use Roon, again no problem at all. However if I stop Roon playback and try to stream spotify or airplay, no sound at all. In order to get sound back i have to deactivate the EQ.
Do you also have the same setup (Roon) on your Digi One?
I never test this DAC as I don’t own one. But if it works before you install Roon, so there is no problem from Volumio/plugin/DAC…
I never tested Roon…
I suspect it :
to keep the audio output even when you stop it
to modify /etc/asound.conf that prevent the equalizer to work.
You can check this point by enabling the plugin, playing somehing, if it plays, have a look at /etc/asound.conf
And do the same after you installed Roon.
Sorry, but I can’t help you more. This in not an offical setup…
I suspected that Roon might ‘conflict’ with the rest of the setup. Hopefully at some point volumio will include Roon bridge as a plugin and that may fix things.
