On the selection screen in tidal the same album appears more times according the coding or other (maybe es. high, max, atmos) but in volumio selection screen there are not enough informations to select the one you want. (or I’m so dumb to not understand)
It seems we are seeing something different, in Tidal screens is possible to see in the list the Dolby Atmos logo and the resolution before selecting the album. In Volumio there is no indication of dolby atmos but only the resolution for every single song.
There is not a big issue, just a nice to have feature…
Are you looking for a resolution, version, or bit-rate indicator on the album’s folder and root description from within the Volumio UI?
There used to be an “M” indicating if it was an MQA and then MAX quality version, but it’s not present in the latest versions of Volumio anymore. Yes, I think it would help if it could be added again.
The small catch is that Tidal has several resolutions that fit under the Max label - for example, an album can be available in HiFi or High at 44.1kHz / 16bit; Max at 92kHz / 24bit; and Max at 192kHz / 24bit simultaneously. So unless the M label + Resolution info is added, there would still be no way of knowing which Max version an album is until it is reproduced.
EDIT: I’m tagging @volumio@Marco_Melziade to ask: is this possible/feasible? That is, to implement the flag or tag system for format/resolution to be displayed before playback from the folder/album and folder/album content description; and maybe even as a system-wide feature, including local files?
