Need Help: New Raspberry Pi 4b will not accept SD Card

Bought a brand new Raspberry Pi4b (ripped off in the process) and wanted to set up my third instance of Volumio. So I have two running with no problems on the latest addition and I am a premium subscriber. Os I flashed the SD card and loaded it into the PI and the Pi, after about 30 seconds) rejects the SD card and it never loads Volumio. I put another card in and it did the same thing.

So now what? I am hopeful that I could potentially load via USB but couldn’t find anything definitive on that that was not 3 - 5 years old.

Any suggestions?

I would say contact the seller and try to get a new one …if it’s not working.

Are your other Volumio instances also on Raspberry Pi? Just to confirm that it isn’t an SD card problem, try booting with an SD card from a working instance. Conversely, check that the newly flashed card boots on one of your working RPi. If you confirm that the SD card is fine, then I agree that you should contact the seller.

And if the new flashed SD card boots fine in the old rPi’s and the SD from the older rPi’s fails in the new rPi, I should also try to flash the SD with Raspbian as I recall issues with Volumio on the rPi4 when rev1.5 came out (Volumio needed to patch the kernel) and see if the new rPi boots on the Raspbian image.

@metro Thank you for your suggestion. So I did just that, ie I ran the new card in another 4b installation and the 4b read it right away and launched the Set-Up wizard. So I set the card up with a new name and with all the plugins and connections and it works great.

@Wheaten Thank you also. Not sure how to run Raspbian but the main issue is that the Pi is physically ejecting the SD card, so I am not even having a chance to read the card.

So I am dealing with the provider now.
