Mini86 no DAC after Update

After being away for six months I restarted my mini86 - which worked very nicely before with my TEAC UD-501 with 2.2 - and update to the latest version 2.387.

Since then the TEAC UD-501 does not appears anymore as an output device. Also with SSH aplay - the DAC is not listed beside the 3 HDMI and the analog out.

Meanwhile, I did a factory reset, changed the USB-cable, did several restarts. The DAC appeared for some time and disappeared again after being some hours idle.

Any ideas?

Daniel,
could you try our dev version? It has a newer kernel with more support for a whole range od usb dacs.
You can find the download link in Volumio Development/ Development Talks/ “Next X86” development.
Meanwhile I’ll check the old kernel to see if anything slipped out when we did the last dac support update.

Or you can just do a factory reset and you’ll go back to the working version you had before

This is until we understand what goes wrong there

Since I have the music library on the internal 1 TB HD, a factory reset needs many hours to restore the library.

Hi folks

I did a factory reset but unfortunate I have the same problem. After playing for around 10min. The mini86 loses the connection with the DAC and after can not find it anymore. Also, the device gets hot and I start to feel it could be a (termal) hardware issue with mini86.

The Teac DACs works fine on the laptop wth same cable.

Just to close the thread. A fresh installation with the latest x86 image (2.411) fixed all problems with the DAC regonition. Works now very stable again.
