Metrum Onyx DAC (hiFace 2 USB) stopped working with Volumio

Hello,

I’m just got a Metrum Onyx DAC and hooked it to Volumio through USB. I was using an RME Adi-2 before and just hooked the cable to the Onyx. Forgot to change the output device on Volumio, but the Metrum Onyx was working fine anyway. I was switching the USB between the Adi-2 and the Onyx several times without restarting Volumio and it was fine.

Then I got to the playback settings of Volumio and found that the inner sound card of the mini pc that is running Volumio was selected. I changed it to the “hiface two uac2”, which is the Metrum Onyx. After that switch I no longer can make it work. The Onyx is showing error. I tried the Onyx with it’s drivers on Windows and it’s working.

Can you help please? Any suggestions?

Also, it’s possible to buy an USB to SPDIF converter soon - probably Matrix Audio - X-SPDIF 2 or Gustard U16. Will this work?

I managed to make it work again once by switching DACs on the fly (while playing music and without changing Output device). Unfortunately, it worked only until restart. Can’t replicate it anymore.

Any help?
