I recently made DAP based on Volumio, running on a Raspberry Pi 3B+, a Hifiberry DAC + and the 7" touch screen for the Raspberry.
I also added an IR remote using LIRC to control the unit. Following all available guides from the internet I succeeded in putting it together, using a IR receiver which I soldered to the boards.
When I boot the DAP the control works as expected. The issues start when:
- the screensaver is enabled. After that no command from the remote is executed anymore. I checked if LIRC and irexec are still running, using top in the ssh terminal, which is still the case. Everything looks still normal there.
- When I press the “stop” button on the remote the players stops, but it is not possible anymore to start the player using the “play” button on the remote. I have to press first play on the touch screen and then the remote commands are recognised again.
Has anyone come across these issues using remotes with lirc?
