iOS app + streaming Airplay via Volumio

Hi,

i’m new to this forum and to the raspberry/volumio world community!
Very happy with my new kit composed from an Allo Digione + Raspberry PI3!

I’m starting to work to an optimized version of Volumio app for iOS based device.
This app is a clone of the official one (based of volumio.local website) but optimized for latest device like iPhone X and very very fast. I am not an official iOS developer and then this app now is only for me  If Michelangelo wants I will give him the code and can update his official app.

Now the main question:

Volumio and Allo Digione sound very like from me. I have tested songs in 96/24 bitrate and it sounds very good.
I have tried to execute from my Mac (iTunes) the same songs (96/24) streaming via airplay to Volumio and the quality seems to is much improved. In particular the voices are much clearer. So in this way the quality of the music is better.

Any ideas of the reasons?

Just curious, why do you need to write a new app when one is already there (beside the official web app)

See itunes.apple.com/us/app/volumio … 17308?mt=8 (source is available as well on GitHub)

For 2 reasons:

  1. is not optimized for new device
  2. i prefer the UX of the original webapp

if prefer the UX of the original web app the Original iOS app is just that (but cost money).

A simple iOS app with a webview would just do the trick ?

Do share with us if you have a working version

Our iOS app costs money because it’s one of the few ways we can get funding on the project. So what you pay is worth more than the mere cost: you’re keeping us going by purchasing it
