Interesting wifi connection problem, works in combination with cabled device, not with both on wifi

First off, great work on the software and the support community, thanks for that. I have looked through known issues and have not found a similar situation, so I am trying here if someone has an idea.

I have a clean, newly installed Volumio running on Raspberry Pi 3B (downloaded last weekend). I have installed the Android app. The following is puzzling me:

Volumio connects to my local wifi, no problem. The router shows the Pi as connected, IP adress and all. However, I cannot reach it with the app, unless the Pi is connected to a network cable. If I connect the networkcable to the router, I can reach Volumio through the app and trough the browsers on the phone over wifi. If I unplug the network cable of the Volumio Pi (after checking wifi connection is still active of course) I cannot reach it through neither the app nor the browsers (I tried Fennec, Chrome, Vivaldi, DuckDuck and standard basic android browser). However, If I try to connect via a laptop which is connected to a network cable, I can reach Volumio through any number of browsers on the laptop even if Volumio is only connected by wifi. If the laptop is on wifi and Volumio is on wifi, it cannot connect. It seems like one or the other needs to be connected by a cable, and I am really puzzled why this would be. Does anyone have any idea?

I have kept searching and apparently there was a security setting in the router that prevented phones from communicating with other devices in the network. I am not sure I enabled this when I initially set it up years ago, but if I work around this, than it works as intended. Thanks for all that have spent time thinking about this.

Good you find this one yourself. For sure wouldn’t have guess this.
Which brand and model is your router? Might help others.

It’s a Fritz!Box 7490. I think every Fritzbox works with pretty much the same OS, so this might also be worthwhile to look into if someone has the same problem. For now I am going to rip some of my CD’s to FLAC and put it on my Volumio PI to try it out
