Installation on RPI fail?

Hi. New to forum but no to Volumio. I had a working version for a couple of years but I have decided to upgrade to latest version of Volumio. I have reflashed my 8gb microSD card from a windows PC and have put the card into the RaspberryPI. In the past it booted after a few seconds. The new version is not booting up at all. I have connected a HDMI cable to see what is going on and the boot process is stuck on a line that states ‘Volumio login:’. It would appear it is waiting for an input from me. It has never done this before and I have never connected a keyboard to my PI before (in fact I don’t have a keyboard). There is no mention of this in the setup guide, so I am a bit confused. Have I done something wrong?

Cheers, Bill.

No, just use a browser and connect to Volumio’s IP

The problem is Volumio is not booting up,so it can’t e accessed by a browser. Like I say, it is asking for a user name.

when booting process is finished, at this point (hdmi) there is always a login.
volumio is headless, that means, you have to use another device (like smartphone, tablet,…) to see what you are looking for.
try to find on wlan 'volumio" and login with 'volumio2" - then u should have a smile in your face

Nobody seems to understand my problem. Volumio does not boot complete the boot process. it stops early on asking for a user name. I know how to access Volumio when it boots as I have used it for over 2 years. the new installation I have made today using the latest version does not boot.

maybe some more info helps. which RPI? and which error occurs? photo from screen? or try another mSD card…
over 2 years? user experience should be very different right now.

Thanks for all the replies. It turns out it was a network problem. One of my homeplugs had been turned off at the wall by my wife. Once the network was back on everything was fine.
