Image Metadata In Folders

This should be my final post with questions on the topic. Fully memory Raspberry Pi 5.

Working to put custom album cover and artist art (in 300x300 .jpg images) in all of my folders. I am fully aware that the images must appear on a folder-by-folder basis.

Can you please verify the following?

  1. A .jpg image named identically to the folder itself will appear as the cover image, correct?

  2. I sort by “AlbumArtist” using “Compliation” in the field for those without a single artist. A .jpg image named identically to the AlbumArtist will appear as the artist associated with the entire album, correct?

  3. How is art handled in the case of a “Compilation?”

3a) If I produce and include a .jpg image to represent a “Compilation” named literally “Compliation.jpg” will that image appear as “the” artist associated with the folder?

3b) When “Compilation” is the “AlbumArtist” and I include a single .jpg named identically to each “Artist” used within the folder will Volumio then use these images when displaying the folder contents?

  1. When indexing my catalog will Volumio automatically identify images with identical name and content in the manner it must do when using MusicBrainz.org data? My use–for modern player piano data and accompanying music–makes this distinction critical.
