Hi,
I am using Volumio on a Raspberry Pi, the version I have installed is 2.526
I have installed Volumio pretty much only for Webradio, and it works great for this! The one problem I am encountering is that I can’t get webradio to repeat reliably. I have one station I have manually added that I really enjoy, the problem is the provider of the webradio will every few days have an outage for an hour or so (or maybe they blacklist my IP for a period of time) so the stream will stop functioning.
With my old solution, music-on-console (mocp) I would just put the stream on repeat and it’d keep trying over and over until it reconnected and then it’d keep playing.
I can’t find a way to do this in Volumio. I’ve tried to following:
- Clicking on the 3 dots on the front page player (on the Playback page) and clicking the “Repeat” icon that appears in the popup. When playing music from the NAS this button functions, when playing Webradio this button doesn’t function - i.e. clicking it doesn’t toggle repeat on.
- Manually typing “mpc repeat” from the SSH console.
Neither of these cause the station to repeat reliably. After an outage I still have to load up the WebUI and click the play button.
I was going to try a solution of using cron to just type “mpc play” every 5 minutes, but Volumio doesn’t have cron installed (I’m sure I can manually install it, it’s just Debian, but I’d rather not add packages that aren’t supposed to be part of the system)
Does anyone else have this problem and has come up with a solution? Should I be able to click repeat when a webradio is playing?
I understand that Webradio isn’t the target function of Volumio, so I don’t think this is worth logging a github issue over, but happy to accept guidance from those better in the know if it’s something the developers would consider as an actual problem.
Thanks!
Tim
