how to exclude cover art?

I’ve been searching the forum in order to avoid double topics, but it seems the issue I’m having has not been covered yet.
My scenario si Raspberry 3 with IQAudio digi+, on a wifi network.
The router is a fritzbox 3490 with an attached USB Hdd that is shared on the network.
I use it to stream my music on 2 separate hifi sets, one with volumio, the other with a PC.
My music library is big, say around 2000 folders/subfolders, each being one album.
Some of those folders contain one or more image files (cover, backcover, etc.).
The fritzbox is NOT connected to the internet: there is no DSL service in the apartment and I only use the fritzbox to share music/video.
When I use the browse function, volumio looks for the cover or other image and loads it, so that in the list/grid I see the thumbnail next to the artist/album folder.
Loading the thumbnails slows the process quite a lot on my wifi networh, and it’s just not worth it.
I would rather have just the “standard” folder thumb instead of the specific album thumb, if it means loading the list/grid more quickly.
In Volumio’s options (plugin/system_controller-networkfs) I have set to “OFF” both the “online covers” and “show albumart” options.
Still. volumio keeps on loading the thumnails every time, and it takes ages to navigate the library.
Any way to instruct volumio NOT to load album art?
If this should come at the cost of not having the cover/art of the album displayed while I’m playing that album, so be it. I really don’t care, since I use my phone to select the album, start the playback and then forget about it while it’s playing

Actually, this is a good idea. It will be on my todo list, do you mind opening an issue in the volumio2 repo?
github.com/volumio/Volumio2

ok, I’ve tried.
never done that before, hope the issue is there.
many thanks.
by the way, I’m a complete newbie in this, but it seems to me volumio’s a very good project. congrats!!
