For those, still having issues (as I did) with Pi Touch Display 2& RPi 4B 1GB & Volumio 4:
There is NO NEED to manually editing config files. If you have done this already - no worries - do not have to revert changes.
- Uninstall “Touch Display” add-on (if already installed). You can also start from scratch installing fresh Volumio instance on microSD.
- Reboot. You should see welcome Volumio logo, command line and QR code in portrait orientation.
- Install “Pi Screen Setup” AddOn. Reset all the display settings (Restore Factory Defaults option). Start the configuration wizard (Reconfigure Display). Select all necessary options (for my setup: Pi Touch Display 2 7", DSI0, 270deg, KMS CMA, 64MB)
- Reboot. You should see Volumio logo than command line and QR code oriented horizontally (as expected).
- Install “Touch Display” Add-On ([PLUGIN] Touch Display - #1799 by Wheaten)
- Reboot. Volumio UI should be visible BUT again - in PORTRAIT view. Do not panic!
- Check if touch works correctly in portrait orientation - it should.
- In “Touch Display” Add-On change screen rotation (270deg in my case). Save changes.
- Reboot (probably not necessary but …)
- Check if it works
