gsa from Annecy, France

hi everybody,

first I would like to thanks all the volumio team for the work they did and the time spent.

I used to lesson to music with a Cambridge Audio Streamer (SM6v2) , from which I stream FLAC files from a Synology NAS

I just setup volumio on a RPi 2 this week, to test it and the final goal would be to create a basic and easy streamer with a touch screen to get an easy to use music player without any need to have a remote control (phone, tablet…) . A kind of basic squeezebox

today for my test , I use the USB dac from my Cambridge Amplifier (CA 651), but then I would like to build an all in one box with dac, amplfier and screen.

at the moment, I found 3 issues

  • one important issue for me, it seems Volumio is not Gapless. I guess there are some settings somewhere

  • track numbers are not displayed while playing. Just track name / album name/ Artist.

  • and the last one, album art cover are not displayed when browsing the DNLA server. When I browse by Album, or by genre,(…) it is displayed only in the album itself.

Anyway the final purpose behind this is to lesson to music, this is the most important thing in my life from early morning to late evening.

I like Jazz, Rock, folk , TripHop electro, world, and some classical

and I wait for the Qobuz pluggin of course

thanks
G

Hi G,

Welcome aboard mate!

I believe the gapless issue had been captured before, if it has stopped working maybe someone needs to create/update an issue on github for the matter.

The display of the track number is definitely an enhancement issue, maybe someone already logged it on github.

The last issue needs to be tested and confirmed I guess, I don’t use a DLNA server, so I’m not sure how this works exactly.

Cheers

Hi Saiyato

just to let you know the 3 issues I talked about are only seen when using DNLA

if I create a Volumio DB with the same files from the same NAS but accessed via a CIFS share, when playing from this Volumio DB it works

  • no gapeless issue
  • art displayed when browsing
  • track number displayed while playing

Regards,
G
