I was looking for a way to play a specific playlist in Spotify in shuffle mode as an alarm clock.

Made a python script which reads out a google calendar (Which I created only for alarm purpose).  
When an event occurs, the playlist will start.

You can tweak the settings, by default it will fade in the playlist, see config.cfg.
