Gapless not working with Spotify

Hi everyone,

I’m really happy with this product. Thanks for such a great experience.

One problem that I have though is that I can’t seem to have gapless playback working with Spotify. I’ve found some topics mentioning this, but none seemed to bring a solution to the problem. I have an Allo DigiOne Player with a fresh install of Volumio v2.457.

I’ve tried with the “official” Spotify plugin – thus playing Spotify streams from the Volumio interface.
I’ve also tried with the latest Spotify Connect plugin, playing from my phone.

I’m testing this with Beatles’ Abbey Road famous medley and specifically the transition between Mean Mr Mustard and Polythene Pam.

Does anyone know a workaround ?

There is no workaround for the Spotify plugin based on libspotify - the backend for the official spop client that is being used. Spotify never implemented it in libspotify from what I understand.

As for Spotify connect (volspotconnect2) that uses librespot - I started on working on gapless ( github.com/ashthespy/librespot/tree/greedysink ) but still need to implement prefetching tracks.
