I understand that you may already have been notified about a potential FusionDSP compatibility issue with Volumio 4.185 on the Rivo Plus. I am adding my findings because they may help confirm and narrow down the problem.
My normal setup is:
Rivo Plus → USB → Denafrips Pontus 15th Anniversary DAC
Before upgrading to Volumio 4.185, PCM, Hi-Res PCM and DSD playback were stable with FusionDSP enabled. Immediately after the upgrade, I experienced frequent short dropouts, particularly with higher-resolution PCM files, and DSD playback initially would not start.
After completely uninstalling FusionDSP:
- PCM and Hi-Res PCM playback appear smooth again;
- DSD64/128/256 start and appear to play normally;
- only DSD512 still has dropouts, but DSD512 is not particularly important to me.
Another Rivo Plus user has reported similar crackling with FusionDSP enabled, which also disappeared after uninstalling the plugin.
FusionDSP’s parametric EQ is important to me because I use REW-derived filters to correct room-related peaks, with a clearly audible improvement in sound quality. I would therefore very much like to use it again.
If you are already investigating the issue, I would be happy to reinstall FusionDSP temporarily, provide logs, or perform specific tests to help identify the cause or verify a future fix.
