Files added are deleted on reboot

I want to use the pi which hosts volumio to measure temperature and humidity.
Ive added all the files to do this but when I reboot to start the monitoring python scripts the files have been deleted!
Help! Does anyone know how to prevent the python files from being deleted?

Where are you saving the files? Are they just python scripts?

Not all are python scripts … some text files (config) and some library files.
They were put in /home/volumio … I tried to create a new directory under /home but that got deleted too after a reboot
Ive looked at the SSD card outside the pi and its directory structure is quite different … not just /proc directories etc .
So I guess volumio must create the dir structure each time it reboots … I guess Im looking for a place to put my files so that they
can be placed in /home/volumio on reboot. At the moment I set up the pi to do the monitoring and then just dont switch it off … (as
I do normally … for the music). So its not mission critical  but I would like to understand whats happening as I want to create other
volumio pi’s able to monitor temp and humidity.

Volumio uses an overlay and squashfs, which is why things look different on the sd card alone. I don’t understand why you can’t create permanent directories in the home directory though … it works for me here (just tried on a Sparky).

Hi chsims1,
there must be something wrong with that pi … I have another pi with volumio on it and I can add directories to /home on that one.
Thanks for the help

It’s for sure the power supply then: if it does not give good old 5 volts and 2 A, the sd card does not work properly
