DIY Volumio streamer for a Philips microset

Hi there,

Just finished a small streamer for my brothers Philips microset.

This streamer is of a simple design with just a Rpi4B, IQ audio DAC Pro board, 60W powersupply for the Rpi and screen and a 320x960 Wisecoco 4.6 Inch wide TFT Display LCD-screen with a HDMI interface board. The case of a similar defective microset DVD player was used to house the electronics.
This 320x960 resolution display operates nicely with a small modification to the cmdline.txt file.
For the screen layout the Now Playing plugin is installed. The Peppymeter templates were changed to match the resolution. Custom Peppymeter images matching the display of the microset were designed.

The standby voltage was taken from the amp and used to power up and power down the streamer with the rest of the set.
The knobs on the side are used for play/pause, prev/next and manual shutdown.
The blue LED surround light is coupled to the DVD and activated by a small driver circuit.
These are activated when you control the set with the knobs or remote.

The display screens of the amp and DVD were made new with the same smoked glass as the streamer.

Well done. Seems the used screen is spot on. (fits well in the existing design)

It was a very tight fit. Mounting the LCD was a bit of a challenge but worked out with the help of a laser cut adapter plate.

A perfect match! It’s the best looking part of the set now.

It looks great, like it was made in a factory. Are there any photos of how all the elements are arranged inside?

No images of the inside at the moment. I will take a few images and post these in the next couple of days.

It is a pure functional layout. It will not get an award for esthetics !
The green multi connector connects the streamer with the DVD player. A scart connector was located there original.
