Define a radio per default / started

Hi,

Is it possible to define a radio per default which is automatically started after Volumio has finished to boot (due to power off/on) ? Can we also define the sound volume (40 of 100) ?

Remark : I have installed volumio top of Allo Boss DAC + Pi3 and it works like a charm ?
Best regards

Charles

Not exactly as you want, but there is a plugin called ‘Autostart’ that plays the last entry in the queue on reboot.

There is a default startup volume in playback settings.

Hi Charles.
That was a question that I also asked…

See here radio-startup-t11074.html

Many thanks for the link. Is the volumio API documented somewhere to understand available and what could be configure, including volume ?

I have not tried taking it any further yet. Other things and other problems have got in the way

Hi guys,

I’m thinking of extending the autostart plugin along these lines.

As I see it there would be three options:

  • Play from the start of the play queue (original plugin functionality)
  • Play from the last played position of the play queue (already implemented)
  • Play a configured item (anything that can be added to the play queue from the browse menu e.g. track, album, playlist, webradio). This option would clear the play queue of items that were there before Volumio was shutdown or restarted.

What do you think?

I have an idea how to implement the last one but haven’t tried it yet. I will hopefully get a chance to look at it over the next while.

p.s. I asked the original author of the plugin, Thomas Doerr, if he was ok with me extending it. He was and hopefully that remains the case!

Hi Lombardox.
That sounds like just the thing ( your option 3 )
What I do at the moment is clumsy and requires me to remember to do it. It goes like this. -

  1. Look at the time and realize that it is bedtime.
  2. If player is off turn it on
  3. With player on, clear queue and add Radio station to play list. ( I have the auto-start plugin active and startup volume set to required level )
  4. Shut player down and set in-line power supply timer to my wake up time.
  5. Make a mug of Horlicks and drink it, then go to bed.
  6. Lay awake in bed worrying that I remembered to do 2 - 4 above.
  7. Get up again and check that I did remember.
