Dead BBC web radio

I used to use the BBC radio streams in Volumio (web radio > Volumio selection).
These have stopped working as the BBC have withdrawn support. I understand that these where shoutcast, but BBC web radio is still available. I’m just wondering if the dead streams will be replaced with working streams in the web radio selection in a future update so it works again? I’m not technical enough to mess around with it myself so rely on how it works ‘out if the box’

Thanks

well, you can always add whatever radiostation as a favorite

If you are in the UK I can post the links to the current BBC streams, Then all you need to do is put the in as “My Web Radios”

Also if you are in the UK you can stream in “High Definition”.

Thanks, all. I figured out how to add the new streams using a list of working streams I found. I have 5 Volumio devices however so it would be nice if a future release had the dead links updated. I’m sure it will.

I am in the UK. Not sure if I’m getting high Def stream, this is one of the URL’s I’m using

http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/manifesto/audio/simulcast/hls/uk/sbr_med/ak/bbc_6music.m3u8

Yes, that’s it change:-

/sbr_med/ to /sbr_high/

http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/manifesto/audio/simulcast/hls/uk/sbr_high/ak/bbc_6music.m3u8

Do the same for other BBC radio stations apart from The World Service

That’s great info, Thanks Steve. I thought they sounded a bit compressed. I will change them to high see if I can hear the difference. Only really interested in radio 6 music and radio 4, possibly radio 2 but I can’t stand any of the presenters on there these days . The best thing about Volumio is web radio for me. I like flicking through all the Volumio suggested stations, got me into Radio paradise which is excellent :ok_hand:

These seem to have stopped working. Does anyone have a list of current working BBC radio streams?

maybe this will help for some

This link was mentioned in one of the other BBC threads

Are these coming from the BBC directly?
