DAC that works well with RPi 7" display

Hi,
I just started using this wonderful software, but i am getting a lot of low level noise from the headphone port on my Raspberry Pi 3.

I am looking for an affordable DAC that will work with the raspberry 7" display I am using.

Can anyone give som goor pointers?

sorry if this is a FAQ, i searched the forum but could not find any suggestions.

kind regards,
/Lars

If you have the RPi official touch-screen display that hooks up via the display connector, then you’re free to pick up almost any HAT-based DAC as the GPIO connector is untouched by the screen. I use a HiFiBerry DAC+ Pro, but I don’t know what you define as ‘affordable’. Look for anything that uses the HAT format and you should be OK,

The hookup guide I have uses SCL and SDA from the GPIO ( aswell as powering the PI )

So my worries are that the DAC will use the same pins.

Turns out I had a guide for older version of Rpi.
Rpi 3 has i2c in the flat cable. thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
