configure RPI3 + allo boss 1.2 + volumio

Hello everyone.
I am trying to configure volumio with the DAC ALLO Boss 1.2 (allo.com/sparky-eu/boss-dac.html#downloads).
I can not. I chose I2S dac. I have tried several solutions but nothing works. I searched on the net but I did not find.
What is the solution ? thanks for the help.

Can you give us more details about what you have done since your first boot of Volumio please?

I installed the disk image on the SD card. I have the installation installed.

  • audio output = I2s
  • dac model = allo boss
    if I diffuse a radio, there is 2 times the message “Error Failed to open” alsa “[alsa]; Failed to open ALSA device” hw: 1.0 “: No such file or directory”
    2 -----
    if i change dac model = generic i2s dac
    there is no error message. there is no sound out of the amp.
    3 -----
    if i change dac model = st400 dac (psm5122 - amp) ((it’s the same chip))
    there is the error message “Error Failed to open” alsa “[alsa]; Failed to open ALSA device” hw: 1.0 “: No such file or directory”

I do not know what to do. thanks for the help

Did you save the settings after first selecting your DAC, and reboot?

I just reset,
is there a plugin to install.
the boss is powered by rpi, I let the jumper.

Sorry, it was not clear to me whether the power jumper was set. From Allo’s site:

so the jumper should be on/set for your case.

Are you using a good quality power supply?

I left the jumper on “on”. I did not withdraw it. rpi and dac are powered by the rpi. I have to leave home. on returning I will try to aléné by the dac. I would do a system reset. and I was going crazy trying to feed the rpi and the dac separately. I’ll see how it works. I read a few weeks ago on the net that for the boss 1.2 there was something to install but I can not find the article (which was perhaps old). I take all the ideas. thanks for the help.

edit ; for power supply, I have amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00 … UTF8&psc=1 because I have a screen

I have 2 rpi3. it works on one and not on the other. weird. can be a problem of firmware? thanks for the help
