Long time Volumio 2 user. Just clean-installed version 4 today on the same R-Pi3, and there is no sound from HifiBerry DAC+. Sound comes from headphone jack just fine.
I’ve read other posts that suggested clean install, but this is a clean install. I was going to upload 2 screenshots of the configration screen, but it does not seem that i have that option. Please help.
I am hoping the new version lets me switch my output speakers between a living room (wired) and a bedroom. (bluetooth)
You can try choosing the HifiBerry DAC in the drop-down menu. In my opinion, Volumio should offer individual paid features, a small annual fee to listen to Bluetooth headphones, another to send audio to AirPlay speakers, and keep the current all-inclusive offer. This way, they diversify their revenue sources and become attractive even to those who don’t buy their hardware.

Of course I chose the DAC from the dropdown menu, and rebooted. It is the first selection on the top of the configuration screen. You cannot miss it…
I guess I have to play around if switching to a bluetooth speaker is possible. It seems so with a plugin.
