CD Ripping doesn't work

I am a VOLUMIO PREMIUM user on Raspberry Pi 4 Model B 8GB RAM. I connected an external cd to the system to rip cds. Unfortunately I don’t understand why the ripping fails. Can I please have technical information on how to solve the problem. Thank you

Hello Stefano,

Most of the time the cd drive requires much more power than the only usb connection provides.
Please try to connect the cd drive through a powered usb hub

Thanks David, it worked! I connected one of the two usb cables, namely the power one, to a phone charging power supply. Everything works fine!

After the ripping I found the files in FLAC format. Would it be possible to get the files in AIFF format directly?

At the moment only FLAC format is available
