Can't access Volumio in wifi

Hi,

I’m a long time user of Volumio and decided to install a wifi dongle on my raspi 2 because I have moved my amplifier to the other side of the room and don’t want to bother with an ethernet cable…

Everything went right when I did the setup with the hotspot enabled, I can connect to volumio and I have setup my wifi connexion to my box.
The problem is that I can’t access the GUI anymore , even with the IP. Latest release of Volumio2 is installed.

I can see volumio registered on my router, I can ping its IP with no problem but typing the IP in the browser doesn’t go anywhere.
I have tried to SSH on th IP, no response . Note that SSH is enabled and I can access to it when I plug the ethernet cable. Netstat, ipconfig and all network config looks fine : the WLAN is up and IP is assigned (DHCP)
My firewall doesn’t block the traffic

In summary :

  • connected with ethernet cable : UI works
  • connected via hotspot : UI works
  • connected through access point : can’t access UI nor SSH

I don’t understand what can cause the stuff not to work… pls help !

Thanks

Can you boot up your device with the wifi dongle attached, then connect the ethernet cable until you can log in to the UI, and then send a log?

Well … for whatever reason it works today …

Next time I’ll know about the log, I forgot about it.

Thanks

Well, I thought it worked but it didn’t… in fact I can access the GUI on the IP address associated to the wifi but only if an ethernet cable is connected.
If I disconnect the ethernet then the IP doesn’t reply anymore.

The strange thing is that I have installed Spotify connect and I can perfectly play my music from spotify although I’m unable to ping the Raspi on wifi.

Tried two different wifi dongles (Raspi official and tp-link TL-WN725N) and it’s the same issue.

Here is the log (started with wifi and then connected ethernet to get access to gui): drive.google.com/open?id=1Zv8Iz … mluw1c64PU

I have not been able to attach it in file…

Thanks!
