I previously had Moode fronting my RV system and it was brilliant coming back to the van after a long trail and just powering up to get sound in a few seconds. I’ve ultimately settled on Volumio but it was a bit of disappointment to realise even with Persistent Queue set, I still had to use the interface to actually press the play button before I heard anything! And then it simply started back at the beginning of the play list/queue.
So my most earnest request to the develpoment team is to implement autoplay from last known playlist point.

Is this not exactly what the auto play plugin does? I’m not entirely sure, I believe it uses mpd’s last position…
this option is requested more times. for example:

i think it’s more a bug than a suggest a feature.

After listing two threads your comment therefore implies a general regard of an autoplay feature as a bug.
Or did you mean to say someone’s particular implementation of it was buggy!

i see me and other expecting another behaviour from the plugin.
i could also think that the describtion ist not clear to me:

consume the last played track or starts playing the last entry in the queue
So a plugin that describes itself in this way: “Starts playing the last entry in the queue after rebooting volumio”
somehow doesn’t meet your requirement of “… or starts playing the last entry in the queue”?
In any case I tried installing it and it came back with “error”.
Naturally the volumio.log came to the rescue: “An error occurred installing the plugin. Rolling back config”

Can you give us the full log, or at least some more info?
I’ve tried installing the auto_play.zip (manual upload) and I started without errors. I have not tested functionality, just installed and started it:

Solved that one - the volumio password is hard coded in the plugin installation and I’d changed it to something more convenient - v!
Can confirm that playing resumes but only from the start of the queue.
