ALSA issue, Hifiberry Dac+pro/RPi3B+

Hello,

I keep getting the ALSA message. Have tried most resolutions seen here in the forums: reflashed/reset hardware, deselected I2s=>Save=>restart and then reselected I2s (and DAC)=>Save=>restart (and get same message). Setup was wired, but subsequent use was wifi. What protocol should I follow to narrow problem?

Check your PSU voltage. Are you getting the low voltage warning?
RPi may be happy but the DAC may not be initialising due to low volts.
5.25 - 5.3 VDC at the RPi/DAC is ideal.

I had the ALSA problem intermittently and replacing the PSU for one with a variable output, set at 5.3V measured at the RPi, fixed it.

Thank you.

I haven’t gotten any voltage warnings that I know of. I have a Canakit that came with a 5V, 2.5Amp power supply. You think that might not do the job?

I had this problem as well. Hifiberry amp2. When I select hifiberry amp, I am not able to play anything and get the alsa message.
Selecting hifiberry dac+ solved the issue for me.
